Saturday 16th July 2022
We came to the centre today as usual. The class was as usual. People participated in the class as usual in groups. People from our village participated in the class from year 1 to year 11. It was a special thing that seven or eight girls and boys who are new to O/L joined our team today.
A few people who have been loitering in the forests in our village have joined us today. They have never come to work like this before. That is a happy thing. Our group is increasing day by day. We changed classes every two hours. Today's subject is Mathematics. Meanwhile, the girls kept busy and started working in the kitchen with Miss Kasturi. Today our total group was 53.
Lentils were cooked in coconut milk, okra was cooked, and sprats (dry fish) were made. With red rice.
Miss Kasturi asked us to go home this afternoon but we didn't feel like going. We made a promise to her yesterday. It is to finish the work of this new garden beautifully and make this place a different place. So we didn't want to finish at the usual time.
We worked on the vegetable beds we had started. I didn't feel time passing. Our whole bodies started to sweat. No matter how much Miss asked to finish, we didn't want to stop working. We worked on the vegetable patches until about 6:00 this evening.
We made tea to drink while working together in the evening. After boiling water and making tea, there were no cups to pour the tea. So we drank tea in milk cups as an alternative. It's so fun..
So we worked in our own way. We made our own little things to work on the beds. We removed the stones from the beds with small tools made from sticks. The soil was levelled with planks and the beds were made level. We did them according to the group's own ideas.
Teacher Kasturi said that today we worked harder than our age. We are happy about that. We worked until we were drenched in sweat. We made the floor beds for planting vegetables very well. We wanted to do this job as well as possible. We came and covered the beds and made everything tidy. We also talked about the work of fencing the day after tomorrow.
The biggest problem we have is finding seeds. The teacher said that we are making a model garden here. This should start in our homes as well. We are thinking about that too.
The teacher told us that if we do this work properly in the centre for two weeks, we will be able to start at home by the third week. Tomorrow we are also thinking of making a living cell.
So this is how our community meeting went today. Today is a day when all of us are more motivated to do more work to sort out this work little by little.......
We hope to take another step forward tomorrow.
ප්‍රජාමුලුතැන්ගෙය -12 වැනි දවස
2022- ජූලි මස 17 වැනි සෙනසුරාදා
අදත් වෙනදාවගේම අපි මධ්‍යස්ථානය වෙත ආවා. පංතියත් පුරුදු විදියටම තිබුණා. කණ්ඩායම් විදියට වෙනදා වගේම පංතියට පිරිස් සහභාගී වුණා. 1 වසරේ ඉදලා 11 වසර දක්වාම අපේ ගමේ අය පංතියට සහභාගී වුණා. අලුතින් O/L කරන කෙල්ලෝ කොල්ලෝ හත් අටදෙනෙක් අද අපේ කණ්ඩායමට එකතු වීම විශේෂ දෙයක් වුණා.
අපේ ගම ඇතුළේ කෑළැ අස්සෙ රවුම් ගහන කීපදෙනෙක්තු අලුතින් එකතු වුණා, අද අපිත් එක්ක. එයාලා කවදාවත් මේ වගේ වැඩවලට ඇවිල්ලා නැති තරම්. ඒක නම් සතුටු හිතෙන දෙයක්. දවසින් දවස අපේ කණඩායම වැඩිවෙනවා. පංතිය පැය දෙකෙන් දෙකට මාරු කරමින් කළා. අද විෂය ගණිතය. කෙල්ලෝ කීපනෛක් මේ අතර කස්තුරි මිස් එක්ක මුලුතැන්ගේ වැඩ පටන් ගත්තා. අද අපේ මුලු කණ්ඩායම 53ක් හිටියා.
පරිප්පු කිරට උයලා,බණ්ඩාක්කා උයලා, හල්මැස්සෝ බැදුමක් හැදුවා. රතු කැකුලු බත් එක්ක.
අද හවස් වෙලා කස්තුරි මිස් අපිට ගෙවල්වල යන්න කිව්වත් අපිට යන්න හිතුණේම නෑ. අපි ඊයේ මිස්ට පොරොන්දුවක් දුන්නා. ඒ මේ අලුත් ගෙවත්තේ වැඩ ලස්සනට ඉවර කරලා මේ තැන වෙනස්ම තැනක් කරන එක. ඉතිං අපිට වෙනදා වෙලාවට ඉවර කරලා යන්න හිත දුන්නේ නෑ.
අපි පටන් ගත්ත පාත්තිවල බැහැලම වැඩ කළා. වෙලාව යනවා දැනුනෙම නෑ. දාඩිය දාන්නත් ගත්තා අඟපුරාම. මිස් කොච්චර එන්න කිව්වත් අපිට වැඩේ නවත්තන්න නම් හිතුනේ නෑ. අපි අද හැන්දෑවේ 6.00 විතර වෙනකම් පාත්තිවල වැඩ කළා.
අපි එකතුවෙලා හවස්වරුවේ වැඩ කරද්දී බොන්න තේත් හදා ගත්තා. වතුර උනු කරලා තේ හදලා බලද්දී තේ වක්කරන්න කෝප්ප තිබුණේ නෑ. අපි ඉතිං විකල්පයක් විදියට කිරිකප්වල තේ බිව්වා. ඒක හරිම විනෝදයි..
අපි ඉතිං වැඩ කළේ අපේම විදියකට.පාත්තිවල වැඩකරන්න අපි අපේම පුංචි පුංචි දේවල් හදා ගත්තා. පොල්තිවලින් කපලා හදා ගත්ක පුංචි උපකරනවලින් අපි පාත්තිවල ගල් ඉවත් කලා. ලෑලි කෑලිවලින් පස් මට්ටමි කරලා පාත්ති අයින් එක මට්ටමට හැදුවා. අපි ඒවා කළේ කණ්ඩායමේම අදහස් අනුවයි.
කස්තුරි ටීචර් කිව්වා අද අපි වයසටත් වැඩිය මහන්සිවෙලා වැඩ කළා කියලා. ඒ ගැන අපිට සතුටුයි. ඇඟපුරාම දාදිය වතුර වගේ තෙමෙන්නම අපි වැඩ කළා. පාත්ති හොඳටම අපි හැදුවා. අපිට ඕනි වුණේ මේ වැඩේ උපරිම හොඳට කරන්න.අතුකපාගෙන ඇවිත් ඒ පාත්ති වහලා ඔක්කොම පිළිවෙලක් කළා. හෙට අනිද්දා වෙද්දී වැට ගහන වැඩේ ගැනත් අපි කතා කර ගත්තා.
අපිට තියෙන ලොකුම ප්‍රශ්නේ බීජ හොයා ගන්න එක තමයි. ටීචර් කිව්වේ අපි මෙතන හදන්නේ ආදර්ශ ගෙවත්තක් කියලා. මේක ටිකටික අපේ ගෙවල්වලත් පටන් ගන්න ඕනි කියලා. අපි ඒ ගැනත් හිතනවා.
ටීචර් අපිට කිව්වා අපි මේ වැඩේ හරියට මධ්‍යස්ථානේ ඇතුළේ සති දෙකක් කළොත් තුන්වෙනි සතිය වෙද්දී අපිට ගෙවල්වලත් පටන් ගන්න පුළුවන් වෙයි කියලා. හෙට අපි ජීව කොටුවක් හදන්නත් හිතන් ඉන්නවා.
ඉතිං අද දවස අපේ ප්‍රජාමුලුතැන්ගේ ගත වුණේ මෙහෙමයි. මේ වැඩ ටිකෙන් ටික පිළිවෙලක් කරන්න තව තවත් වැඩ කරන්න අපි හැමෝගෙම පෙළඹ වීම වැඩි වුණ දවසක් අද. හෙට තව පියවරක් ඉදිරියෙන් තියන්න අපි බලාපොරොත්තු වෙනවා..
