When the children came to the community kitchen this morning, they brought oil, incense sticks and flowers to light the candles for the religious ceremony. They had thought of all those things without our notice. Beautiful flower baskets had been made and brought. They also spontaneously cleaned the centre.
We made a schedule according to their grades for them and asked them to come to the class according to that schedule. After the classes, they joined the cooking and cleaning.
The children themselves requested to prepare payasam, a Tamil dish, for tomorrow's meal.
"Let's make payasam tomorrow. We don't need rice, teacher." This is their request. So the community kitchens got ready for that by taking the items needed for that request. Also, a very nice request came from the children today.
"Miss, these days it's hard for us to eat. So the animals also have enough, right? The animals come and eat, teacher. They don't have much fruit to eat these days. Let's make a bird bench to feed the animals..."
So the children decided to share their food not only with everyone in the community and with the animals around. They dug holes to make the bird bench today. They said that they themselves will bring the nails and planks needed for the rest of the work tomorrow.
Today's meal was sprats, lentils and soy meat. Nearly 45 children participated. They did a lot of work related to the garden. Many of these things were done by the children themselves.
Math class was today. Children joined in groups.
They played a lot. Worked very enthusiastically. Six or seven young children also participated in today's work. They are working hard to make this work beautiful day by day.
මධ්‍යස්ථානය පිරිසිදු කරන එකත් එයාලා නිරායාසයෙන්ම කළා. අපි එයාලට කාලසටහනක් හදලා දීලා ඒ කාලසටහනට අනුව තමයි පංතියට එන්න කිව්වේ.වෙලාවෙන් වෙලාවට ශ්‍රේණිය අනුව ඒ ළමයි මේ පංතියට සහභාගී වුණි. පංති ඉවරවෙලා තමයි එයාලා උයන පිහින වැඩවලට වගේම වටේ පිරිසිදු කරන වැඩවලට සම්බන්ධ වුණේ.
එයාලා අද කුරුලු බංකුව හදන්න වලවල් හැරුවා. එයාලම එහි ඉතුරු වැඩවලට අවශ්‍ය ඇන සහ ලෑලි හෙට දවසේ රැගෙන එන බව කිව්වා. හාල්මැස්සන් බැඳුම්, පරිප්පුයි සහ සෝයාමීට් තමයි අද කෑම වේල වුණේ.
