Gayathri is the person who volunteered to do all the
financial and coordinating work of the Ceylon community kitchen. We have never
seen her. Haven't met either. But she joins us with the thought that she
can't step aside by just donating some money for these kids, there is much more
she wants to contribute to make this project work.
She got back to us, the Ceylon youth movement on the nearest
day...
"I would like to help with this project. Also, there
are several friends who would like to help with this kind of work. I would like
to help the community kitchen as well as the community school..."
After this brief but very supportive phone call, she got
back to us with a group of friends who shared her thoughts and 20,000 rupees in
financial aid for the Ceylon community kitchen. Providing computer facilities
and internet facilities for boys and girls in Kirilipana was coordinated by her
within days.
They are also now coordinating the donation of plants and
seeds to the community garden which is to be put together in Kirilipana as a
step towards the self-sustainability of the project in future. Above all that, she has offered us her
knowledge and time for this task.
Her professional experience in accounting as a graduate of the
faculty of management, Jayawardhanapura University, is invaluable for us to
maintain a transparent operation regarding the funds of the Ceylon community
kitchen on daily basis.
"I can contribute my time as much as I can, you can get
all the details about the expenses and money from the google sheet that has
already been shared in the admin group, keep all the dates and amounts of the
money received, separately. Is that money spent only on the work of the
community kitchen? Let's keep all those expenses recorded. A bill is needed to
accept each expense. After sending me those bills, I will update them in excel.
The actual measurements should be the same as the one I record in excel
then..."
She was organizing everything while teaching us how to run
the financials in the project. We felt so grateful and uplifted by her efforts.
"Yes Gayatri, all this money is spent only on the
community kitchen, we will give you all the updated details every day..."
There are several things she pointed out today while
reflecting on the things within the community.
"Let's write separately about those who are
contributing to this work. Let's write them a little thank you note. Many
people who I have called, already offered to help on this, with faith in me.
If possible, arrange a place near Colombo as a collecting
centre to deliver goods. We can collect
dry food items and keep them at that place.
We can take a bus..."
Her vision and new ideas are giving us new hope and a
direction on where we should head next. She shared a lot with us. What do we know about unity? Gayatri you and we both have the same common
feeling. It is to build up a common mechanism
that can support people who are becoming helpless day by day. From the
conversation we had with you, it is clear that you and I have the same
goal.

"ප්‍රජාමුලුතැන්ගේට වගේම ප්‍රජා පාසලටත් උදව් කරන්න කැමතියි…."
අද අපි කතා කරන්නේ ගයත්‍රී නදීෂි රත්නායක ගැන.
අද ගයත්‍රීට ප්‍රජාමුලුතැන්ගේ සියලුම මුල්‍ය කලමණාකරනය සහ සම්බන්ධීකරණ කටයුතු කරන්න කැමති වුණා. අපි ඇයව කෙදිනකවත් දැක නැත. හමුවීද නැත. නමුත් ඇය අප සමඟ එකතු වන්නේ කිරිලිපනට මුදල් විතරක් දීලා අතපිහිදා ගන්න බෑ කියන සිතුවිල්ලත් එක්ක.
ඇය ආසන්නතම දිනක තරුණ ව්‍යාපාරය සමඟ දුරකතනයෙන් කතා කරනවා.
"මම කැමතියි මේ වැඩේට උදව් කරන්න. මගේ යාලුවොත් කීපදෙනෙක්ම ඉන්නවා මේ වගේ වැඩවලට උදව් කරන්න. ප්‍රජාමුලුතැන්ගේට වගේම ප්‍රජා පාසලටත් උදව් කරන්න කැමතියි…."
එහෙම කතා කරලා දුරකතනය විසන්දි කළ ගයත්‍රී, යහලුවන් සම්බන්ධ කරලා ප්‍රජාමුලුතැන්ගේ අරමුදලට 20000/= හොයලා දුන්නා. කිරිළිපන කොල්ලෝ කෙල්ලන්ට අවශ්‍යය පරිඝණක පහසුකම් ලබා දෙන්න අන්තර්ජාල පහසුකම් ලබා දෙන්න සම්බන්ධීකරණය කළා. කිරිළිපන හදන්න යන ප්‍රජා ගෙවත්තට පැල සහ බීජ ලබා දෙන්න අවශ්‍යය සම්බන්ධීකරණයත් කරමින් ඉන්නවා. ඒ ඔක්කොටම වැඩිය ඇය අද ඇගේ දැනුම සහ කාලය මේ වෙනුවෙන් දෙන්න ඉදිරිපත් වෙලා ඉන්නවා.
ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ කලමණාකරන්‍ය පීඨයෙන් අධ්‍යාපනය හැදැරූ ඇය ගිණුම්කරණය පිළිබඳව වෘත්තීය අත්දැකීම් ඇති කෙනෙක්.
"මං මට පුළුවන් දායකත්වය දෙන්නම්. යන වියදම් සහ මුදල් පිළිබඳව සියලු විස්තර දැනටමත් ඇඩිමින් සමූහයේ හුවමාරු කරලා තියෙන් google sheet එකෙන් ගන්න පුළුවන්නේ, සල්ලි ආපු ඔක්කොම දිනයි , ගානයි එක්ක වෙනම තියාගන්න
එතකොට ඔය සල්ලි වියදම් වෙන්නේ community kitchen එකෙ වැඩ වලට විතරයි ද ?
ඒ සෑම වියදමක්ම record වෙලා තියාගමු.
වියදම් කරපුවට පිළිගන්න පුලුවන් බිල් එකක් ඕනි . ඒ බිල් ටික මට එව්වම මම excel එකට update කරලා තියන්නම්
මම excel එකේ හදන ඒවයි ඇත්තම ගනන් මිනුම් සමාන වෙන්න ඕනි එතකොට…."
"ඔව් ගයත්‍රී මේ සියලුම වියදම් යන්නේ community KITCHEN එකට විතරයි, අපි ඔයාට සියලුම විස්තර දවස ගාණේ updates දෙන්නම්.."
සමුහය ඇතුළේ සියලු දේ හුවමාරු කර ගනිමින් ඇය අද කියපු කාරණ කිහිපයක් තියෙනවා.
" මේ වැඩේට උදව් කරන අය ගැන වෙනමම ලියමු. එයාලට පොඩි ස්තූතියක් කරමු. දැනටමත් මම call කරපු ගොඩක් අය මගේ විශ්වාසෙට මේකට උදව් කරන්න ඉදිරිපත් වෙලා ඉන්නවා.
තව පුළුවන් නම් කොළඹ ලඟ පාතකින් බඩුදෙන්න තැනක් හදන්න. වියළි ආහාර ද්‍රව්‍ය එකතු කරලා මේවා අපි එහෙට දෙන්න පුළුවන්. බස් එකක් හරහා යන්න පුළුවන්…."
ඇය ගොඩක් දේ, අපි සමඟ බෙදා ගත්තා. සාමූහිකත්වය ගැන අප දන්නා යම්දෙයක් වේ ද? ගයත්‍රී ඔබටත් අපටත් ඇත්තේ එක පොදු හැඟීමකි. ඒ මේ දවස ගාණේ අසරණ වෙන මිනිසුන්ට සහය විය හැකි පොදු යාන්ත්‍රණයක් ගොඩ නැගීමයි. ඔබ සමඟ අප කළ කතා බහ ඇතුළේ ඔබත් අපත් එකම අරමුණක සිටිනා බව පැහැදිලි විය. උදව් කරන්න පැමිණි ඔබ ඒ වෙනුවෙන් වැඩ කරන්න ඉදිරිපත් වීම වෙනුවෙන් ලඞකා තරුණ ව්‍යාපාරය හෘදයාන්ගම ස්තූතියි ඔබට පුද කරනවා.
